Oh, as for the Michelle Obama “whitey” video, it seems to be a rehash of a Republican gimmick from campaigns past — you talk enough about a video of a picture of a candidate’s wife doing something unseemly and ultimately, you never have to produce such a thing for the damage to be done. In this case, the rumor of choice is a purported video of Michelle Obama ranting against “whitey.” In the past, it’s been a rumored picture of Kitty Dukakis, Hillary Clinton, and Teresa Kerry burning an American Flag.

Yes – we all recall when John Kerry was Swift Boated in a manner reminiscent of Ghengis Khan – the fact that it was in Cambodia is certainly seared in my memory…

Probably 1989 or 1990. 5th floor of
Teter Wissler. My buddy Jason Petrone’s roommate comes home with a Rick Astley CD. We’re drunk, we berate him, and convince him to throw it as far as he can out the window. So it flies out fifty feet or so to the road and skitters over and bounces off a car tire. We’re satisfied. Then, surprisingly, from the street a few moments later we hear a guy yell, “Cool, Rick Astley CD! Hey, can I have this?” We were like, yeah, dude, it’s yours.
Funny. How many people around here even know what that is? Or, even who Rick Astley is?
