Talking Points Memo suggests, convincingly in my opinion, that McCain’s campaign end game is essentially fear, fear, and a little more fear. Specifically, in the form of, “Obama’s black; and he might be a terrorist.” They can really only hit full-slime mode now in the waning days of the campaign during the window when they can get the message out without being called on it so much.
Don’t take my word for it, however. My mind is made up in favor of Obama. Just keep your ears open and listen for whether McCain convincingly describes a vision he has for an America you want your kids or grandkids to grow up in. In other words, does he have (and spend his campaign resources discussing) aspirations for significantly improving a country that most of us agree is currently on the wrong track?
