Due Process is Where You Go to See if What They Said is So

I’m not anything like a country music fan, but I thought about this lyric from “Carl Perkins’ Cadillac” during a discussion about the current administration’s resistance to due process.

I mean, sure, you *say* you’re deporting bad people. But, talk is cheap. Probably cheaper today than maybe ever before. Due process is where you go to see if what they said is so.

“No person shall be deprived of liberty without due process of law.” In other words, “put up or shut up” is the American way.
